This Is Our Story
Prado Trucking has been a family-owned and operated business since 1998. Our story begins with Federico Prado Sr., who migrated from Mexico to the United States on December 25, 1962. With dreams of building a better life, he started as a migrant worker performing manual labor in the fields of California’s San Joaquin Valley. Over time, he became a self-taught mechanic, repairing agricultural machinery and tractors in the fields. On weekends, he took on side jobs fixing vehicles and engines while teaching his two sons mechanical skills in their home garage.
In 1998, Federico and his two sons combined their knowledge of agriculture and their passion for trucks to establish Prado Trucking. Through years of hard work and dedication, the company built trusted relationships and earned a respected name in both the agriculture and trucking industries throughout the Central Valley.
Today, Prado Trucking is proudly owned and operated by Fred Prado’s two sons, Jairo and Andre, along with his younger brother Gabriel. Together, they continue the family legacy with the same commitment to quality, reliability, and strong community values that have defined the company since its founding.
Federico Prado Sr. - Founder
Federico Prado Sr. is the visionary behind Prado Trucking and the cornerstone of the family legacy. After migrating from Mexico and working tirelessly as a mechanic and agricultural laborer, he laid the foundation for what would become a trusted name in Central Valley trucking. While now retired from day-to-day operations, his values of hard work, resilience, and family remain deeply embedded in the company’s culture.
Fred Prado - Co-Founder & Senior Advisor
A proud former U.S. Marine, Fred Prado brings over 30 years of experience in the trucking and agriculture industries. Known for his no-nonsense leadership and unwavering work ethic, Fred played a pivotal role in building Prado Trucking from the ground up. Now enjoying a well-earned retirement, he continues to serve as a trusted senior advisor to his two sons and younger brother—offering guidance rooted in discipline, integrity, and decades of hands-on expertise.
Gabriel Prado - Client Relations & Dispatch Supervisor
Gabriel plays a key role in supporting Prado Trucking’s operations by coordinating day-to-day logistics, managing weekend dispatch, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. He actively assists in acquiring new lanes and business opportunities, helping drive the company’s continued growth. As a licensed CDL driver, Gabriel also provides valuable flexibility and firsthand insight into fleet operations.
Jairo Prado - Director of Finance, HR & Operations
Jairo oversees all financial and human resources functions at Prado Trucking, including payroll, compensation and benefits, compliance, training and development, and workplace safety. He also contributes to dispatching and operational coordination, ensuring that both people and processes run efficiently. With a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of day-to-day operations, Jairo plays a pivotal role in driving the company forward across multiple departments.
Andre Prado - Director of Fleet Operations & Logistics
Andre plays a critical role in the success of Prado Trucking, overseeing all aspects of fleet management to ensure optimal performance and reliability. He also leads dispatching and logistics operations, coordinating the efficient movement of trucks and maintaining seamless service for our clients.
